Victoria's youth justice custodial services aim to reduce reoffending and give young people the skills to make the most of their lives when they return to the community. Doing this work well makes Victoria a safer place to live.
Working within a broader team focused on improving rehabilitations and outcomes for justice-involved young people, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining restorative practice across our youth justice custodial precincts at Parkville and Cherry Creek as well as develop restorative justice capacity.
You will also lead processes and provide advice and skills coaching to support staff undertaking daily restorative conversations. Your input will help to maintain, repair and improve relationships between young people and operational staff, while empowering team members to motivate young people in achieving their case plan goals.
With regular updates to the leadership team and key stakeholders, your work will make an important contribution to how we evolve future policy, program development and achievements in line with departmental initiatives.
To be successful in the role, experience and knowledge of restorative practices, conflict management, mediation, social work, communities of concern and/or custodial environments is highly valued.
A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card will need to be provided prior to employment.
A tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, human services, criminal justice or related field is desirable.
Applications for this role will take you to the employer’s site.
