The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) was established to ensure Victoria’s strong economic performance by growing industries and regions. The department supports a range of diverse portfolios and operates across metropolitan, regional and international offices.
The position of Case Manager forms a part of the International Education branch within the Global Victoria group.
The International Education Sector Branch is responsible for supporting international education businesses and international students through diversifying export markets and products; providing support to providers to expand their export market focus and maintaining Victoria’s position as a destination of choice for students.
Reporting to the Manager – Casework Team, the role will focus on day-to-day activities such as intake, assessment, case planning, referral, and material aid provision. In addition to providing intake and casework services, the role includes engagement with key stakeholders across the sector to increase awareness of the SMSC and promote the Victorian Government’s investment in student initiatives.
Working as part of a close-knit team, the position is also responsible for fostering a welcoming environment for international students visiting the centre, giving presentations to students and stakeholders, and undertaking a wide variety of work across the division such as project delivery.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience providing intake assessment and casework support in a cross-cultural setting, preferably to temporary migrants. They will also be comfortable giving presentations to groups of students and show perseverance working with a client group that often face barriers to accessing mainstream services.
