- Diversity Council Australia (DCA) is seeking a Communications Advisor to join our team and help amplify our thought leadership in the D&I space.
- This role offers the opportunity to shape and execute digital communication strategies that engage and inspire our diverse audiences.
- This is a 12-month contract role, based in either Sydney or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and distribute engaging fortnightly eNewsletters and other digital communications.
- Craft on-brand, accessible, and accurate copy for diverse audiences, including e-invitations, research briefs, and communications from the CEO.
- Manage and enhance DCA’s website content, highlighting key resources and research updates (experience with WordPress ideal, or able to update/create website content using drag-and-drop style editors)
- Collaborate with our Social Media Specialist on social media work (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X) to support DCA’s social media strategy by occasionally drafting, publishing, and monitoring social media content and performance.
- Use data analytics to track and improve communication effectiveness, including website traffic, social media engagement, and eNewsletter metrics. These are used to provide monthly analytics updates to the team.
- Ensure all communications meet accessibility standards.
- Explore new digital formats (videos, infographics) for sharing DCA research and liaise with external designers for approval and content creation.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content.
- Experience in creating and managing digital content, including eNewsletters, social media, and website updates.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans across multiple channels.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, tailoring messaging for various audiences.
- Proficiency in using digital communication platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, ClickDimensions) and content management systems (CMS).
- WordPress skills to manage and maintain our website, ensuring seamless performance and user-friendly design.
- Analytical skills to interpret communication performance data and make improvements.
- Knowledge and appreciation of diversity and inclusion, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and creativity in content creation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and video production/editing would be a bonus.
