Role Details

DHS Disability Services are seeking an experienced Aged Care Manager who will work in partnership with the manager of Nursing Services and a supportive leadership team.

The Manager, Site Operations is a role within Disability Services and is accountable to the Assistant Director, Complex and Transition Services for:

  • Managing safe and effective day-to-day site operations to deliver quality person-centred care to residents at Northgate Aged Care.
  • Planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the service to ensure risks are addressed, ongoing continuous improvement and all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
  • Optimising and accounting for funding, monitoring budgets and expenses and allocating resources effectively.
  • Providing leadership, supervision, performance management and effective deployment of staff.

Key Outcomes and accountabilities:

  1. Lead a multi-disciplinary team and exercise aged care, disability and policy knowledge to deliver person-centred care to vulnerable residents in line with DHS Customer Charter, DHS Strategic Plan, legislative standards, and Disability Services policy and practices.
  2. Devise and implement a comprehensive change management plan to address identified risks and meet compliance requirements.
  3. Build strong relationships with residents, partners in care, families, guardians and stakeholders including leading engagement activities. 
  4. Monitor and maximise funding, actively manage capacity of the service, oversight of the screening and assessment process including orientation of new residents and families.
  5. Work closely with clinical leaders and managers across DHS to deliver evidence-based care including the case management approach and nursing model of care.
  6. Oversee maintenance of the facility and ensure a safe and welcoming environment, and the operational performance of sub-contractors against key performance indicators including food services, equipment, clinical consumables and maintenance services.
  7. Develop and implement strategies to ensure a culture of continuous quality improvement, including developing a proactive people management plan that includes all aspects of workforce planning, performance management, workplace culture, employee and industrial relations, employee engagement, and both team and individual development activities.
  8. Lead emergency response planning and implementation at the site.

Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department. The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.

  • Some out of hours work may be required.
  • Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).

Screening Checks
