About Dental Health Services Victoria

Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) was established in 1996 and is the leading public oral health agency in Victoria.
We aim to improve the oral health of all Victorians, particularly vulnerable groups and those most in need. DHSV is funded by the State Government to provide clinical dental services to eligible Victorians.

We help to provide Victorians with quality oral healthcare through The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) and by purchasing dental services for public patients from more than 50 community health agencies throughout Victoria.

About the role:

This role will see you engaging with a number of external partners including General Practice, Primary health Networks, Aboriginal Community Controlled health Organisations, public and private dental services to improve capacity for oral health promotion in Victoria.

Your aim will be to increase the prevention, screening and early detection of oral cancer in order to reduce the impact of the disease in Victorians at risk. You will facilitate the development and implementation of training programs for health professionals in oral cancer screening and early detection.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health sciences, health promotion, public health, health or social sciences or related discipline
  • Excellent understanding of project management
  • Experience in the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reviewing of training, resources and programs
  • Knowledge of smoking cessation, cancer screening or other public health initiatives (desirable)

You will be:

  • An expert in relationship building and collaborating with stakeholder groups
  • Analytical, with the ability to gather and interpret information from varied sources
  • Influential with well developed presentation and facilitation skills
  • Experienced in working with a variety of tasks in an administrative environment
