The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP)has a requirement to fill a fixed term vacancy for a Project Officer to support the Victorian Renewable Energy Target (VRET). This role will support key business projects that are priority initiatives within the Grampians Region’s VRET program and for DELWP.
Our successful candidate will have a substantial career to date and experience in natural resource management, town planning, environmental assessment, regulation of infrastructure projects or a similar field. Relying on such professional experience you will competently contribute informed and technical advice regarding biodiversity, native vegetation and Crown land. Such advice will support the environmental assessment and land use planning approvals process, for renewable energy developments.
The incumbent will have demonstrated capabilities in end to end complex project management – from project planning through to project delivery. You show an agile approach to project delivery – working through bottlenecks methodically and apply systems thinking that enables you to think laterally when solving problems.
Underpinning all the skills that you have, you have an exceptional ability to work collaboratively as part of multi-functional teams of regional and policy staff. You can form and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders.
This position requires a person with very good verbal and written communication skills, and a strong understanding of land use planning, DELWP’s environment policy responsibilities and its role in renewable energy development.
Your solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be utilised as you navigate complex issues, conversations, expectations and the general demands and priorities of the role.
You will be joining a dynamic team, with a flexible and supportive culture and will have volumes of emotional intelligence as you apply your knowledge to facilitate renewable energy projects whilst advocating for DELWP’s policy outcomes.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2020.
