ABOUT THE ROLE

This position has the primary responsibility of ensuring an effective best practice approach to organisational risk and compliance.

It has key responsibilities in collating, maintaining, informing, coordinating, and reporting on risk and compliance across the organisation.

The role has a focus on working with managers and team members to ensure the quality implementation of risk management and compliance activities.

It also has key responsibility for ensuring all record keeping in relation to risk and compliance, including maintaining risk and compliance registers, action lists, management plans, and policies and procedures.

Key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, inform & coordinate organisational risk management, including risk register and action item completion.
  • Maintain, inform & coordinate organisational compliance with regulatory requirements, including in relation to the Standards for RTOs, ACNC, ATO, ASIC, fundraising, safeguarding, data protection, Fair Work, WHS, and our funding bodies.
  • Periodic review of existing risk management approach.
  • Identification of emerging risks.
  • Conduct assurance and compliance reviews.
  • Internal control development.
  • Maintain risk and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate risk and compliance projects as needed.
  • Record keeping and reporting.

Location: Ideally Sydney based, other locations considered for the right candidate.

Hours: Permanent part time 20 hours/week.

Remuneration: Competitive remuneration package offered.

Equipment requirements: Laptop and other office basics will be supplied, however home office set-up is required.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a committed, results driven individual, with strong risk and compliance skills to join the team at Delta Therapy Dogs.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, compliance, or business.
  • Previous experience in risk and compliance roles.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with risk methodologies, including identification, assessment and reporting.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people across all levels of the organisation.
  • Highly organised and analytic approach.
  • An ability to work autonomously and within a geographically dispersed national team.
  • Strong technology and computer literacy.
  • Drive, initiative and ability to problem solve.
  • Self-reflective, with a growth mindset.
  • A connection to our purpose.
  • A commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in RTO risk & compliance role.
  • Experience in for-purpose risk & compliance role.

Delta Therapy Dogs is a national for-purpose organisation whose purpose is to help animals and people bring joy to each other. Our work focuses on bringing the social, physical and emotional benefits of animal assisted services to people who need it most.

Therapy Dogs teams visit sick children and adults in hospitals, residents in aged care facilities, rehabilitation centres, prisons and any other health and community settings where building connection with a therapy animal can enhance quality of life.

We are also an RTO delivering a Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour & Training to students aspiring to be profession positive-reinforcement dog trainers.
