ABOUT DEADLY CONNECTIONS

Deadly Connections is an Aboriginal Community Controlled, not for profit organisation. Its purpose is to build stronger and safer families and communities by driving individual, social and systemic change through a multi layered approach of providing prevention, intervention and diversionary solutions, systemic/individual advocacy and raising community awareness through education.

Through the provision of intensive, individualised, culturally safe, holistic approaches Deadly Connections promotes healing centred, sustainable positive change for people, families, and communities. About the Role:

The People & Culture Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the organisation's Human Resources functions.

This position is responsible for various HR activities spanning recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, policy compliance, compensation and benefits administration, employee engagement, and legal compliance.

This will include but is not limited to the following list of duties:

  • End-to-end recruitment and onboarding
  • Employee relations
  • Award interpretation and compliance
  • Performance management
  • Leave management
  • HR record keeping
  • Policy Implementation and compliance
  • Payroll assistance/approval with external Bookkeeper

KEY CANDIDATE CONSIDERATIONS

  • Relevant University Degree or equivalent Tertiary training/Certificate
  • Experience (min 3-4 years) in a similar role performing similar duties is required in this role
  • Specific knowledge of end-to-end employment relations required and ability to interrupt industry specific Award
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure environment, manage time effectively and set priorities. As well as the ability to work in isolation and get tasks done.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and keyboard skills, including knowledge and experience with various software including Microsoft Office, business management and accounting programs such as Xero
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to deliver quality customer service, contribute to service improvements and adapt to change
  • Professional presentation, confidence and positive behaviour at all times
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to undertake research, analyse data and prepare summary recommendations for reports or responses to enquiries on behalf of the CEO and Co-Founder
  • Ability to advocate, negotiate and problem solve
  • Understanding of the community's cultural diversity and ability to practice with cultural competence and safety
  • Ability to partake in reflective practice and to be self-directed.
  • Work as a member of a team with shared vision and values
  • Not required however desirable, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working with First Nations communities and individuals.
