Accountant for Community Wellbeing Non-profit Org (Immediate Start)
Maybe work life balance means more to you than winning the race to the top of the corporate career ladder.
You like the idea of working for a good cause, of doing important work, where you can make a real difference rather than simply growing someone else’s bottom line.
You’d like a flexible, supportive opportunity in a warm, inclusive multi-cultural environment, that’s friendly to your family or study commitments.
You’d welcome the opportunity to work with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community and you’re confident you’ll be able to absorb and blend in with the culture.
You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or a closely related discipline. You also have at least five year’s recent experience in a professional accounting role for non-profit organisations.
You’ll also be comfortable with the idea of working autonomously; in taking on some serious responsibility for an organisation that will be relying on your diligence and commitment.
You can put your hand on your heart and confidently say:
If all that sounds like you, please do apply straight away. We’d love to hear from you!
You will be reporting to our Manager Corporate Services, but broadly we need you to take charge of the organisation’s books, financial reporting, tax compliance and financial acquittal.
As an organisation funded by grants from over 40 bodies, financial acquittal is a key part of this role. If you’re interested in forging a career as a non-profit accounting professional, the experience you’ll gain here in this field will set you up for the future and make your CV really sparkle.
Along with that, as an organisation that runs on a tight budget, we’ll likely call on you to roll up your sleeves and do stuff that’s outside your job description from time to time. Part of our culture is that everyone helps out where needed.
On offer is a salary in line with market rates, salary packaging that will save you A LOT of tax, a laptop, free onsite parking.
SCHADS Award Level 4 – Negotiable, based on experience.
