About the Organisation

The West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (WMHHS) provides the full range of public health services including rural, regional and mental health hospitals in the region spanning from Esk, through to Boonah, Ipswich and Gatton. WMHHS has over 2,800 FTE staff, an annual operating over $450 million and provides healthcare to a demographically diverse client base. WMHHS has one major referral hospital in Ipswich, four small hospital facilities and high security facilities at The Park Centre for Mental Health. Additionally they provide preventative and primary health care facilities, acute and sub-acute care, oral health and specialized services. The combination of facilities allow the majority of residents in the region to be treated locally.  

About the Role

The Board is seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive to achieve the following key priorities:

• Managing the requirement for hospital services to support the community;
• Increasing capacity for the services to support population growth;
• Supporting mental health and rehabilitation needs of the community;
• Work in partnership to better connect care across the system; and
• Continuing to focus on Children's Health Services, Stroke Services, Statewide and Regional Services.

About You

Reporting to the Board you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and ensuring high quality health outcomes, balanced with efficient service delivery. You will be motivated by the challenge to lead and drive cultural change; engaging with the community, consumers and health care partners. You will ensure the alignment and integration of service delivery to meet needs; working collaboratively with tertiary partners promoting research and education; negotiation of service level agreements; and development of a collaborative working relationship with the Board.

To be successful you must have extensive experience progressing a reform agenda in a similar organisation. You will need proven strategic, analytic and innovation skills in a healthcare environment, coupled with a deep understanding of both national and local drivers for health care reform. You will have a high level of political acumen, and the ability to consult and negotiate across various stakeholder groups.
