The Role
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that project-based engagement teams are positioned to successfully engage with all stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Build, maintain and grow CWPR’s social licence to operate within regional communities.
- Planning, executing, and providing strategic advice and direction on stakeholder engagement objectives, processes and issues resolution.
- Ensuring that CWPR’s practices and procedures are fit-for-purpose, implemented with a high degree of compliance and that the business, and its customers, have a strong understanding of its engagement positioning, risks, and emerging issues.
- Implement industry leading stakeholder engagement practices across a range of state significant projects.
- Oversee the development and quality implementation of stakeholder engagement plans and social impact assessments.
- Lead and manage stakeholder engagement schemes ensuring the portfolio of projects run smoothly at early-stage prospecting.
- Attending events near project locations (where feasible) to develop stakeholder connections and foster a sense of long-term community commitment.
About you
You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business, public relations, or relevant field.
- Stakeholder engagement subject matter expert, practiced in planning, executing, and providing strategic advice and direction on stakeholder engagement objectives, processes and issues resolution.
- Demonstrated experience in communications and/or stakeholder engagement in Renewable Energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of social impact assessment methodologies, relevant to State Significant Developments.
- Deep understanding of current and emerging leading practices to embed stakeholder engagement principles in project planning.
- Critical thinker and an effective influencer that can foresee stakeholder engagement risks and assist on-ground teams to develop and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to deal effectively with senior stakeholder groups, including political representatives and state and local government officials.
