Cumberland Council is seeking applicants with a ‘can do’ attitude with demonstrated experience in community development alongside a proactive focus on quality customer service. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
This position is required to participate in a team approach to supporting the community sector in the Cumberland Local Government Area (LGA). It will utilise high level community development skills to work with local community organisations, residents, stakeholders and Council staff to implement key programs and projects.
Join Cumberland Council’s Community and Place Team as a Capacity Building and Grants Officer. In this position you will work with the Cumberland community and organisations to build social capital, build relationships and generate links across diverse populations and projects.

The ideal candidate will have a community development background, strong project management skills, experience administering community grants programs.

Conditions of Employment: This is a permanent full-time position based on 35 hours per week, with flexible working hours available. This position will be located at the Merrylands Office and travel to other Council facilities will be required. Attendance at meetings and engagement activities after operating hours will be required.
Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 10 of Council’s salary structure with a salary range of $1,386.72 to $1,594.72 per week plus superannuation. Commencement salary will depend upon qualifications, experience and competencies.
