The Crystal Lee Foundation

The Crystal Lee Foundation was founded in 2019 to fill a gap in care for people from birth up to the age 24 affected with an oncology diagnosis, their families and the community as a whole.

Receiving an oncology diagnosis is never expected and the reality that a person of such a young age is about to have their life drastically altered is hard to comprehend. Life as it once was, will never be the same.

​That is where we come in. The Crystal Lee Foundation currently offers a number of service streams. Young person cancer and family support and Bereavement Counselling The Crystal Lee foundation has also founded and operates Crystal Lee Foundation Op Shop.

​All of the Crystal Lee Foundation's services are at no cost to the person or family accessing our services.

The way we work at CLF​

Working with your fellow Directors, you will contribute to and oversee the achievement of strategic objectives while remaining accountable for the Foundation’s overall performance. The Board meet five – six times per year. In addition, you will be required to join and contribute to a Board Committee, which meets virtually every quarter.

Board Member Positions Available

We are seeking suitable Board placements to match our purpose with experience and or qualifications in either:

  • Finance
  • Community Engagement
  • Marketing and Communications

Behavioural duties and requirements of the role

  • Understanding of governance principles and financial literacy.
  • Alignment with the role of the foundation and empathy for people affected by a life-threatening diagnosis, such as cancer.
  • Communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ensure the highest level of integrity is always maintained.
  • Embrace change and understand the risk appetite to enable growth in providing bereavement counselling to a wider audience
  • AICD/GAICD or equivalent trained and/or experience would be advantageous
