Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia

About Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia (CRSA)

CRSA is an Australian charity working to develop and deliver new programs that enable everyday Australians to play a practical and empowered role in welcoming and supporting refugee newcomers, inspired by Canada’s successful community sponsorship program and other similar programs now operating in countries around the world.

In addition to leading in research and advocacy on this topic, CRSA has been coordinating the efforts of a range of stakeholders involved in the national ‘Group Mentorship Program’ (GMP) since early 2020, which mobilises and trains groups of volunteers around the country to provide holistic wrap-around support to newly arrived refugee households.

In 2022 CRSA will be partnering with the federal government in 2022 to design the recently-announced ‘Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot’ (CRISP) program. In the future CRSA will work to support the implementation of the CRISP while also continuing to coordinate the GMP.
