Crossway Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and capable Kitchen and Café Manager to lead operations at Crossway Café, located at our Burwood East campus. The Kitchen and Cafe Manager will play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming space where people experience the love of Christ through exceptional service and community connection.

About the role

As Kitchen and Café Manager, you’ll lead the daily operations of Crossway Café and our commercial kitchen. You’ll oversee food service, manage staff and volunteers, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and help foster a culture of Christ-like hospitality.

This is a hands-on, leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to take full ownership of café operations and kitchen services.

You'll bring a strong service ethic, attention to detail, and a heart for people - creating an environment where excellence and hospitality reflect the love of Christ.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day café and kitchen operations with excellence and care
• Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality for café and event catering
• Supervise, train, and support a team of staff and volunteers
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
• Plan and deliver catering for church events, meetings, and ministries
• Oversee stock control, ordering, rosters, and budget tracking
• Create a welcoming environment that reflects Crossway’s mission and value
• Catering for a range of church ministries and functions.

About You

• Aligned with the vision and values of Crossway Baptist Church
• Experienced in managing a kitchen, café, or hospitality operation
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a diverse team
• Knowledge of food safety standards (Food Safety Supervisor certificate desirable)
• Excellent time management and organisational abilities
• Warm, professional, and customer-focused approach
• Willingness to work in a dynamic, ministry-aligned environment
