Position Summary:

We are currently seeking an organised and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant. This position is essential to ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day HR operations.

The HR Assistant will handle a variety of tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, employee records, compliance, and internal communication.

This role works across all of Crossway's Groups, such LifeCare, preschool and the COACH network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources and Compliance Lead
  • Assist with recruitment, job postings, and interview coordination
  • Facilitate onboarding processes and new hire orientation
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
  • Help ensure compliance with employment laws and church policies
  • Support staff communication regarding HR matters with clarity and grace
  • Assist with benefits coordination, training sessions, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Uphold confidentiality and Christian character in all duties

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in administrative or HR support roles (preferred)
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic HR systems
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
  • A team player with a servant’s heart and a positive attitude

To thrive in this role you will bring:

  • Experience with HRIS systems (preferred)
  • Previous experience in HR administration (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, organisational, and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment
  • A warm, respectful approach to building relationships, and a genuine commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling employee records and compliance documentation
  • Ability to assist with recruitment processes, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding
  • A proactive attitude toward problem-solving and an ability to adapt to changing needs and challenges
  • Familiarity with HR policies, labor laws, and regulations (preferred)
  • Comfort with confidential and sensitive information, demonstrating discretion and professionalism
