An exciting opportunity has become available within CQUniversity’s Office of Indigenous Engagement to employ a Director – Indigenous Engagement. As a leading institution committed to diversity and inclusivity, CQUniversity aims to create a vibrant environment that fosters First Nations engagement, inclusion, and success. In this senior management role, you will lead the development and implementation of key strategies, policies, and initiatives that strengthen the presence of First Nations perspectives throughout the organisation.
As the Director of Indigenous Engagement, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Indigenous Engagement. Working closely with the Deputy Vice-President Indigenous Engagement, you will collaborate with CQUniversity staff and First Nations communities to integrate Indigenous knowledge, culture, and perspectives. Your responsibilities include representing the university in a senior management capacity to drive initiatives related to Indigenous employee and student advocacy, cultural safety and wellbeing, employment, development, and success. Additionally, you will champion Indigenous coaching, mentoring, and leadership development activities to position CQUniversity as an employer of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in senior management roles, demonstrating expertise in Indigenous engagement, community collaboration, and strategic planning. You will contribute to the development of initiatives that drive commercial interests while ensuring income generation for CQUniversity. As a supervisor, you will provide mentorship, guidance, and career planning for your team, fostering a positive and constructive work environment.
