  • Salary Range: $92,332 to $117,718 (effective 1st Dec 23) - determined on level of skills and experience.
  • Type of Employment:
    • The role is Full-Time – we will consider requests for part-time employment (min 0.6 FTE)
    • Fixed Term Contract 6 – 12 months
    • Possibility of secondment
  • Accountability: The position is accountable to the Federal Secretary and President.
  • Location: To be negotiated. Can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Tasmania, or Adelaide. Open to Flexible Working Arrangements.

The CPSU, The Community and Public Sector Union, is a product of the amalgamation of the State Public Services Federation, the largest union covering state government employees in Australia, and the Public Sector Union, the former union for federal government employees. The Union’s goal is to create, protect and improve conditions of State Public Sector employees, through continuous progress and with all staff committed to the trade union movement. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are committed to fostering the professional growth and development of our members. To further this mission, we are seeking a passionate and driven Project Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of our National Online Professional Development Platform.

As a Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and management of an innovative online professional development platform for CPSU members in the public sector. This platform aims to provide accessible and high-quality training and resources to help our members enhance their industrial skills, advance their careers, and contribute to the betterment of our communities. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop a detailed project plan, including timelines and resource allocation.
  • Platform Development: Oversee the design and development of the online platform, working closely with web developers and content creators.
  • Content Management: Curate and manage a diverse range of professional development resources, courses, and materials on the platform.
  • User Engagement: Implement strategies to promote platform usage and engagement among union members.
  • Feedback and Improvement: Gather user feedback and data to continuously improve the platform's content and functionality.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project expenditures and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders, including union leadership, staff, members, and external partners.
  • Other duties as directed by the Federal Secretary or President from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience working with unions or in the public sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business, education, or a related field (Master's degree desirable) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in project coordination and management.
  • Strong understanding of online learning platforms and educational technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to work independently under pressure, to prioritise and multitask.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders around the development and implementation of a project.
  • A capacity to travel interstate from time to time. 

OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION 

  • The position of Project Coordinator, Fixed Term Contract, at the Federal Office of the CPSU (SPSF Group) is a full-time role based in the Melbourne Office of the Group located at Level 10, 128 Exhibition Street.
  • Location can be negotiated and flexible working arrangements.
  • VPS Grade 4.1.1 – Grade 5.1.5. Salary Range $92,332 to $117,718 plus 11% superannuation. (VPS Grade effective 1st Dec 23) Salary is determined on level of skills and experience.
  • Type of employment can be negotiated; we will consider requests for part-time employment. (min 0.6 FTE)
  • Fixed Term Contract 6 – 12 months.
  • Employer-dependent opportunities for secondment from the public sector or union branch may exist.
  • Attractive leave entitlements, annual leave, rostered days off, public holidays, and Christmas closedown.
