The Public Service Association of South Australia (PSA), together with the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU), is the principal union with coverage of over 50,000 South Australian public sector employees.

The Mission

The PSA is entering a new phase of leadership with a clear objective: to re-establish itself as one of the most effective, visible and powerful unions in South Australia.

This is not a "post and schedule" role.

You'll have the freedom to experiment, innovate and bring fresh ideas to the table. If it connects with and builds our audience, we want to explore it.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting and driving the growth of our union through effective media campaign strategies
  • Creating standout content that cuts through the noise across social media, web, email and campaign platforms
  • Producing short-form video, photography and visual content that captures attention and drives engagement
  • Developing creative campaign concepts from idea through to execution
  • Shining a spotlight on public sector workers by sharing authentic stories from our members and workplaces across South Australia
  • Building digital campaigns that inspire action and participation
  • Identifying trends, opportunities and emerging content formats before everyone else
  • Using insights, analytics and audience behaviour to continuously improve performance

Who we're looking for

  • You might come from an agency, media, marketing, journalism, content creator, social media or communications background.
  • Proven track record in content creation.
  • You know how to stop the scroll.
  • You understand what audiences engage with and why.
  • You have an understanding of unions
  • You can produce content that feels current, relevant and authentic.
  • You're curious, creative, proactive and always thinking about what's next.
  • Most importantly, you want your work to have purpose.
