This position is responsible for delivering Community Based Bushfire Management (CBBM). It will take a community development approach to facilitating inter-agency collaboration to develop place-based solutions that address local bushfire risk. The role will work closely with key stakeholders, including Local Governments, DEECA, community organisations, and community groups.
As a CBBM facilitator, you will drive community resilience and collaboration initiatives that support Victoria's Bushfire Management Strategy. The role is based in the regional Community Safety team and contributes to the broader state-based, multi-agency Community First program.
Using a strengths-based approach, you will help build shared understanding of bushfire risk between communities and agencies, build adaptive capacity and integrate CBBM activities as part of regional planning. You will foster strong place-based partnerships, ensure inclusive, evidence-based practices, and contribute to state-coordinated efforts while continuously monitoring and improving community-based outcomes.
There may be times when it is required to work outside normal business hours i.e. evenings and weekends to meet requirements of our volunteer members.
There is some travel expected and please note a valid driver's licence is required (CFA vehicle is provided on these occasions).
