Join Country Connect and make a real impact in community!
Are you passionate about supporting people to live connected, purposeful lives grounded in family, culture, and country? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and have the skills to both coordinate services and provide hands-on support? We’re looking for a dedicated Team Leader / Senior Support Worker to join our team in Ramingining.
About Us
Country Connect Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers culturally grounded supports in remote Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory. In Ramingining, we provide a range of disability and youth services that focus on emotional and social wellbeing through strong connections to country, family and culture.
Our services include community access supports, return-to-country programs, and capacity-building activities that empower individuals to lead meaningful lives. We are also proud to operate the Ramingining Community Café—a local social enterprise.
We work side by side with families, Elders, and local organisations to ensure our work is led by the people and place it serves.
About the Role
This unique, blended role combines direct support work with leadership and coordination responsibilities. You will:
- Deliver high-quality, consistent support to clients, including personal care, community access, and bush trips.
- Coordinate rostering, shift coverage, and administration for the Ramingining team.
- Mentor and support other support workers, promoting a strong, culturally safe team culture.
- Assist with onboarding, incident response, vehicle and equipment management.
- Share stories and insights that advocate for our clients and promote better outcomes.
- Work closely with local stakeholders and service providers to ensure wrap-around supports are effective and person-centred.
What You’ll Need
- Experience in disability, aged care, community services, or youth work and strong leadership skills in a multicultural context.
- Previous experience working in remote areas.
- Strong organisational and admin skills, including rostering and shift management.
- Confidence in providing personal care and leading by example.
- Ability to work independently and within a cross-cultural team.
- A valid manual driver’s licence, Ochre Card (Working with Children Check), and First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain).
What We Offer
- A meaningful role in a culturally grounded organisation.
- Opportunities to contribute to local initiatives like the Ramingining Community Café.
- Professional development and leadership training.
- The opportunity to work across Country Connect Foundation's services and regions.
- A collaborative, supportive work environment.
- Accommodation in Ramingining Community (would suit single person or couple, not family)
- Return flights to Darwin twice a year
