COTA ACT is currently seeking a part-time employee to take on the role of coordinating our volunteer programs. We are in search of a passionate, enthusiastic and well-organised individual to manage and oversee volunteer visits for older and vulnerable Canberrans. These visits are part of the federally funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS).

The coordinator's primary responsibilities will involve collaborating with other COTA ACT staff to recruit, train, and provide support to volunteers who will be visiting older people residing in aged care facilities or their own homes. The purpose of these visits is to offer companionship and friendship to residents who may be experiencing social isolation and loneliness, thereby enhancing their overall quality of life. Additionally, the initiative aims to enable isolated older adults to engage with the community and to facilitate connection and purpose for all involved.

Salary will be within the SCHADS 3-4 level (pro-rata) – depending on qualifications and experience. This position also attracts salary packaging of up to $15,899 per Fringe Benefits Tax year. The working hours are flexible and could suit someone looking to work around carer responsibilities or school hours.
