THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Health Content Writer & Editor to coordinate development, design and review of accessible, high quality, community facing information about incontinence and bladder and bowel control health, enabling consumers to be informed about preventing, treating and better managing incontinence. Manager to oversee the implementation of both internal and external communication strategies.
The role reports to the Health Promotion Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to the Health Promotion Manager and works with all Health Promotion team members to create accessible, community facing written content with a focus on plain language and health literacy. The role will work closely with the Access & Information Coordinator to support development of resources, as well as for projects and initiatives such as BINS4Blokes, Pelvic Floor First and Toilet Training. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, review, and edit community facing health content for a range of target audiences and channels including community facing information, web-based content, promotional and communication materials, and lived experience stories.
- Ensure all community facing health topic content is developed using plain language, health literacy and values-based messaging principles, health communication requirements, and meets the organisation’s style and tone.
- Coordinate input from consumers and subject matter experts, manage workflow, and maintain and update documentation.
- Develop processes and tools to assist with the team’s content writing and editing.
- Access and interpret resources and website performance, user feedback, surveys, keywords to guide and shape content review process, and monitor and evaluate engagement.
- Work collaboratively as part of the health promotion team and contribute to other health promotion activities.

ABOUT YOU
Essential
- Tertiary qualification and/or experience in professional writing, communication, journalism, editing, publishing or related discipline.
- Tertiary qualification and/or experience in health, health promotion and/or community services.
- Five years demonstrated experience in writing, proof reading and editing health content that is clear, easy to read, engaging, evidence-based, for a range of audiences and channels.
- Experience applying principles of health literacy and plain language to health communications.
- Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce.
