About the Role
As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting people with disability or health conditions to live independently in their own homes. You’ll assist with day-to-day activities, ensuring clients are treated with dignity and respect, while following their care plans and promoting wellbeing and comfort.
This role is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, and committed to providing person-centred care.
Your Responsibilities & Duties
- Carry out personal care duties as directed, including dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, feeding assistance, and mobility support.
- Assist with household tasks such as light cleaning, shopping, and meal preparation.
- Accompany clients to appointments, recreational, and community activities.
- Encourage clients with respect and empathy, supporting their independence and progress towards achieving their NDIS goals.
- Follow daily routines, care plans, and supervisor instructions.
- Promptly report incidents, concerns, or observations to supervisors.
What We’re Looking For
- Compassionate, respectful, and reliable attitude.
- Strong ability to follow directions and care plans.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Previous experience in care or support roles.
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the position.
Requirements
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Police Check
- Current Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Have some flexibility to travel and work after hours (including weekends and evenings).
