The Commons Social Change Library is the go-to portal for a wide range of resources on social change: organising, digital campaigning, communications and media, working effectively in groups, and much more. People working for social and ecological justice rely on the Commons to make their work smarter and stronger.

The Commons Library is staffed by a small part-time team who maintain the library and run a number of projects. All staff work from home and have flexible conditions to accommodate other commitments.

about the role

The Fundraiser supports the Commons Library to become more financially sustainable.

In 2022 the Fundraiser will be focused on:

  • Running an end-of-financial year donation drive
  • Building a regular giving program
  • Organising events to acknowledge donors

Hours: 7-14 hours per week, variable depending on tasks (lower hours during planning and follow up phases, higher hours during fundraising drives).

There is potential for the role to be ongoing, subject to funding.

  • Commitment to social and ecological justice and passion for building the strength and capacity of social movements.
  • Proven ability to implement projects effectively and on time.
  • Fundraising skills and experience including:
    • Email writing
    • Persuasive phone calls
    • Event organising
