About the role

The role of Paediatric Asthma Nurse sits within the Community Asthma Program (CAP), which aims to improve health outcomes and supports clients to achieve self-management of their health condition. In this role you will provide asthma education and support to young people and their families and carers. The CAP is available to children and young people with asthma aged between 0-18 living in the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne, with the role being based at either our Collingwood or Braybrook sites.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, along with experience in paediatric nursing.
  • Completion of the Asthma Educators course.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of services to people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understanding of, and experience in, health promotion, program implementation and evaluation using a community development framework.
  • Experience working within a community-based environment, particularly within the field of community health.
  • Understanding of, and experience in delivering asthma education and support of children with asthma.
  • Experience in writing high quality reports and clinical interviewing.

All Healthcare workers in Victoria are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19, you will need to provide evidence before commencing employment with cohealth.
