About the role

This role is designed for an early career or new graduate Health Promotion Practitioner who is interested in developing their skills, knowledge and networks across Community Health. The Health Promotion Officer will proactively support the successful development, implementation, and evaluation of the cohealth Health Promotion Plan in collaboration with Health Promotion Coordinator and other co-workers. This role reports to a Health Promotion Coordinator.

Your duties include:

• Support capacity building to improve community access to the knowledge, skills and resources they need for health and well-being.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate work affecting change at various systems levels within deadlines. This can include research and analysis of needs, community codesign, program development and cohealth Health Promotion Action Plan implementation.
• Create opportunities and implement community mobilisation and participation activities with communities across cohealth's catchment.
• Plan and manage workload to ensure timely achievement of key accountabilities, including health promotion initiatives, reporting, quarterly learning and insights.

Our ideal candidate:

• Tertiary qualifications in health promotion (graduated within the last 2 years). Bachelor of Public Health, Bachelor of Applied Public Health, Bachelor of Health Promotion, Bachelor of Science or Health Science majoring in public health or health promotion.
• Proof of qualification to be sighted.
• An understanding and commitment to community development and health promotion principles and practices.
• An understanding of health promotion project management cycles, including needs assessment, community engagement, planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting.

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses).
