About the role

The Practice Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the Healthworks medical clinic and provides high level support to General Practitioners and other clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of the clinics.

Major areas include oversight of billings, management of rosters and scheduling, setting up of new doctors, and ordering equipment/consumables along with management of other resources and trouble-shooting issues as they arise.

Your duties include:

  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, nonclinical health care team members and reception staff, to ensure the smooth running of clinics
  • Develop agreed communication processes including type and frequency to allow all staff to actively participate in the running of the clinics
  • Promote a strong team culture across the team and with other cohealth staff and partner agencies
  • Anticipate issues as much as possible and work to resolve them quickly or escalate as required

Our ideal candidate:

  • Appropriate qualification in health, administration, or business, which will need to be sighted during the recruitment process
  • Skilled program administrator with high levels of organisation
  • Establishes respectful professional relationships that have clear boundaries with consumers, staff, and partner organisations
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and the ability to self-regulate during difficult situations

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses). Additionally, some roles will also require current AHPRA registration and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Roles that are determined to be Risk Category A or B [staff that have direct and/or indirect contact with body substances and are at higher risk of occupational exposure to infections] will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza prior to commencement [A] or within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
