Cohealth's Aboriginal Health Team - Yakeen Tharn - are looking for a KB Children's Clinic Coordinator to join the team.
The KB children's clinic is a specialist multidisciplinary service supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out of home care to provide early intervention assessments and referral. The KB Clinic Coordinator manages the referral intake process and coordinates documentation and briefing for the paediatrician, speech pathologist, counsellor and Aboriginal Health Worker to ensure the clinic runs smoothly.

This role would be ideal for someone with experience in practice management, health service administration, allied health assistant or support worker in Aboriginal Healthcare.
Crucial to the role is an interest in working with the Yakeen Tharn team to lead culturally safe practices in healthcare. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply however please note this role will involve access to private information and supporting Aboriginal children and families involved in out of home care living in north west regions of Victoria. The coordinator will be involved in the re-design of the new clinic and ongoing coordination of the delivery of the clinic and work in an Aboriginal lead team.
The position is 1 day per week and will commence in February and will be available to end of June 2024, with ongoing opportunities pending funding. This program has been regularly refunded since 2017.
All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses). Additionally, some roles will also require current AHPRA registration and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Roles that are determined to be Risk Category A or B [staff that have direct and/or indirect contact with body substances and are at higher risk of occupational exposure to infections] will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza prior to commencement [A] or within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
