An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and dedicated Curator to join the team at Bendigo Art Gallery, one of the largest regional galleries in Australia.
As First Nations Curator, you will be responsible for assisting with the development, care and display of Bendigo Art Gallery’s permanent collection as well as assisting with temporary exhibitions, including Australian and international touring exhibitions and developing original exhibitions based around the Gallery’s permanent collection. In addition, you will work closely with public programs, and have administrative responsibilities to support to the wider team.
You will have well developed communication skills to allow you to work with a diverse range of people, including artists, Bendigo Art Gallery staff, Visitor Information staff, external institutions and volunteers. The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge of First Nations arts and a Museum or Gallery qualification or appropriate experience in the field.
A satisfactory police check and Working with Children Check is required for this position.
