About the role

The Senior Coordinator GBV Prevention will support the effective implementation of the University’s Gender-based Violence Prevention Strategic Action Plan and associated work plan.

The purpose of the Gender-based Violence Prevention Strategic Action Plan is to apply contemporary, evidence-based strategies, and models of best practice to reduce the prevalence of gender-based violence with three streams:

  • Primary prevention: developing and maintaining a robust culture of respect;
  • Secondary prevention: targeted interventions aimed at those at risk of perpetrating or experiencing gender-based violence; and
  • Tertiary prevention: ensuring the institutional responses to gender-based violence minimise further harm, prevent re-occurrence and ensure perpetrator accountability.

The role will work to support the Senior Manager GBV Prevention to coordinate a whole of organisation culture change program of work involving a large and diverse group of stakeholders as well as providing support and expertise to other key university initiatives. The program of work spans four domains to promote change and includes: harmonisation of systems/legal and policy frameworks; learning and development; awareness raising and health promotion, prevention initiatives and projects.

This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of the prevention learning program plan for staff and students Including the design, development and oversight of learning products and materials inclusive of technical input and instructional design. In addition, the role will have oversight of prevention projects and for the design and delivery of staff and student facing prevention events and activities.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of prevention of gender-based violence best practice and experience working within the gender-based violence prevention sector, with experience in university and TAFE settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, design, develop, and deliver a range of innovative and effective gender-based violence prevention learning and development opportunities (trainings, webinars, learning events).
  • Proven capacity to work collaboratively with internal and external agencies and subject matter experts to develop and deliver trainings, projects, and other initiatives, listening to and implementing feedback to ensure continuous learning and quality.
  • Excellent relationship building, management and influencing skills in order to consult and collaborate with a wide range of partners, including key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to prepare and present materials such as learning plans, digital communications and briefings that are clear, accurate and appropriate for the audience.
  • Demonstrated project management skill and experience including but not limited to risk management, reporting and resource management.
  • Capacity to think and work innovatively, effectively and collaboratively in an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment.
