We are seeking a passionate and experienced English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher & Assessor to join our organisation. The EAL Teacher role is to plan, deliver and assess quality accredited language and literacy programs at CNLC. With AMEP and Skills First funding the EAL teacher will deliver the Certificates in English as an Additional Language (EAL) aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
About the Role
This is a part-time position two days per week to teach combined Course in EAL and Course in Initial EAL (Access) between 9.30am and 3pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Term 3. In addition, CNLC is seeking a teacher one day per week for Certificate II in EAL (Access) on a Tuesday. Ongoing casual CRT work may also be available.
Ideal Candidate
As an EAL trainer and assessor it is expected that you have the following qualifications:
- One of the following from the TAE training package
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its successor) or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its successor) or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and one of the following
- TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy, and numeracy skills (or its successor), or
- TAELLN401A Address adult language literacy and numeracy skills.
- And one of the following:
- TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools (or its successor), or
- TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools, or
- TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.
Or
- A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.
Or
- A credential issued by a higher education provider (as defined in section 16.1 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003) which would enable the individual to satisfy the academic requirements for registration as a secondary school teacher in accordance with the registration requirements in at least one State or Territory in Australia, and one of the following credentials, or the successor to one of the following credentials:
- TAESS00011/TAESS00019 - Assessor Skill Set or
- TAESS00024 - VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set.
- And one of the following:
- A four-year Bachelor of Education, with TESOL as a method
- A bachelor’s degree plus a Master of Teaching with TESOL as a method
- A bachelor’s degree plus Graduate Diploma of Education with TESOL as a method
- An undergraduate bachelor’s degree plus a postgraduate TESOL qualification at AQF 8 or above that includes a 22- day supervised teaching practicum in TESOL, such as a:
- Graduate Certificate in Education (TESOL)
- Graduate Certificate in TESOL
- Graduate Diploma in TESOL
- Graduate Diploma of Education with a TESOL method
- Master of TESOL/Master of Applied Linguistics/Master of Arts (TESOL)
