Who are we?

Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre Inc (CNLC) is a busy and vibrant place where community comes together to participate in a range of inclusive social, educational and recreational programs. We offer a happy and collaborative workplace in a unique inner-city setting that includes a beautiful community garden complete with chickens. Our programs have a strong focus on supporting people by providing opportunities for adult education, pathways to employment, and community belonging. We combine community development and environmental programs with adult education and training as a Registered Training Organisation.

The role

Reporting to the Executive Officer, you will be responsible for all aspects of our Adult Education programs at CNLC. Adult Education programs at CNLC include accredited and pre-accredited courses in Adult Literacy & Basic Education, English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Computer Skills. In addition to developing, facilitating, and evaluating our Adult Education programs, you will also ensure these programs comply with all contractual and regulatory requirements and align with the CNLC Strategic Business Plan.

The Adult Education Manager is part of CNLC’s Senior Management team and contributes to the strategic direction and policies of the organisation. The Adult Education Manager will work from our Princes St site, with responsibility to oversee programs delivered in external locations.

Mandatory

  • Current Police Check and Fit and Proper Persons check
  • CNLC requires all employees to be vaccinated

Preferable

  • Current Victorian driver’s licence and own vehicle

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Classification

The position is ongoing, classified and remunerated under the Neighbourhood Houses and Adult Community Education Centres Collective Agreement 2016, Schedule 3A: Adult Community Education Employees at Level 9. Superannuation will be paid according to the Agreement.

Hours per week

Full-time - 38 hours (0.8 FTE would be considered). The Adult Education Manager role and responsibilities requires occasional weekend and evening work.
