The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Our vision is that young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are connected, empowered and influential Australians.
About the Role
The position will work closely with the CMSport Manager to establish CMSport as a lead agency to support multicultural inclusion in the Victorian sport sector. In addition to supporting the delivery of key program area tasks, this role will coordinate the delivery of two Victorian Government-funded projects. The two projects are:
- Supporting Victorian Sport to create environments free from Racism – CMSport is partnering with the Koorie Heritage Trust and 7 Victorian State Sporting Associations (SSAs) to reduce the incidents of racism in community sport. Over 2 years, the project will develop a clear understanding of SSA and community sport needs to develop and deliver resources, training and action plans with a feasibility study building the case for long-term sustainability.
- United Victory Youth Leadership Program – CMSport is working with leading sports clubs Melbourne United (NBL), Melbourne Victory (A-Leagues) & State Sporting Associations (Basketball Victoria and Football Victoria), with the support of a youth advisory group, to deliver a strengths-based project that will include workshops and activities that focus on engaging young multicultural people through positive role models, unique game day experiences, sports participation opportunities, connecting to local community and aspiring to vocational, volunteering and educational pathways through accreditation.
- Hours: 22.8 hours per week (0.6FTE), Part Time
- Fixed Term: until 30th June 2025

- Location: Carlton

You will have
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Experience in the development and management of a Youth Project Advisory Group
- Skills in the development of program resources using PowerPoint, Word and other Microsoft 365 tools
- Confidence to facilitate workshops and co-design sessions
