The Climate Council is Australia’s leading climate change communications organisation. We provide authoritative, expert advice to the public on climate change, energy and climate solutions and international action. We’re made up of world class climate scientists, energy, health and policy experts, as well as a dedicated team of staff and a huge community who support our work. As an independent, authoritative voice on climate change, we get climate stories into the media, produce hard-hitting reports, call out misinformation and support Australia’s shift to an economy powered by renewables.

An initiative of the Climate Council of Australia, we specialise in connecting journalists with people who are experiencing climate change impacts first-hand, as well as all the Australians coming up with innovative solutions to tackle the greatest issue of our times.
We plan and execute strategic communications and train a diverse range of spokespeople: from firefighters, doctors and farmers to renewable energy entrepreneurs and electric vehicle advocates. The human cost of climate change is too great to ignore, and we believe that sharing compelling stories on this issue is a crucial part of shifting public debate.
We are looking for a junior to mid-level media advisor, based in Melbourne, to join the Climate Media Centre’s growing team across Australia. You will be responsible for driving and coordinating our media work nationally, and working alongside some of the best communicators, researchers, strategists and scientists.
This role reports to our lead senior media advisor in Victoria and works closely with the broader CMC team. You must be comfortable with some with some regular (planned) travel and some early starts.
