We’re looking for a Media Advisor who’s passionate about making a positive change and excited to shape how climate stories are told throughout Australia. In this role, you’ll help drive media strategy, support our expert spokespeople, and amplify the Climate Council’s message across the national media landscape. You’ll work closely with the wider communications team, the Climate Media Centre, and subject matter experts to ensure our climate stories break through the noise and drive real impact.
This is a permanent full-time position, working Monday-Friday each week, with some rostered early starts (7am).
Climate Council is Australia’s own independent, evidence-based organisation on climate science, impacts and solutions. Powered by our incredible community, we advocate for solutions that rapidly drive down emissions, and shape the national conversation about the consequences of inaction.
Our vision - We can materially contribute to the global climate challenge and unlock social and economic benefits for Australians if we cut climate pollution far and fast enough this decade. This represents a transformation in action and attitude from all levels of government, industry, business and community. But we know it’s worth it to protect Australian lives and our natural environment, and to create a safer future for our kids.
Our mission - To be a courageous catalyst propelling Australia towards bold, effective action to have emissions plummet during the 2020s and hit net zero by 2035.
