About the Role

The Director of Membership Experience and Events Delivery is a transformational operational leader responsible for executing strategic initiatives to deliver a streamlined and efficient membership service and industry-leading events program that benefits the membership and delivers continued growth and value proposition to members.

In this pivotal role, the Director will focus on maintaining and expanding our membership base and implementing business optimisation and operational excellence within our processes. This includes applying systems thinking to ensure all membership experience and event management aspects are interconnected, efficient, and forward-thinking.

This position will be required to build a strong membership culture by promoting various activities that stimulate member engagement, enhanced member benefits and service offerings, and embedding a continuous improvement mindset across all operational aspects.

Additionally, the role will lead the implementation of strategies that deliver CEC branded events which drive stakeholder connection and engagement, as well as ensuring the strategic integrity of the CEC’s event pipeline, with a focus on process optimisation and operational agility.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role will provide operational oversight of the portfolio and manage the Membership and Events team, guiding them towards excellence in operational processes and systems thinking.

About You

You will be an experienced Senior Leader with the proven ability to drive strategic initiatives, motivate and empower high-performing teams, and build a strong membership culture within a NFP Membership organisation. Your experience in growing membership organisations will be critical to your success in this role.

Critical to your success will be your demonstrated ability to develop compelling strategies that will stimulate member engagement through the delivery of enhanced member benefits and service innovation, and to lead and influence the strategic development and performance of the organisation's annual events program.

You will have demonstrated experience in transforming operational processes, implementing business optimisation, and driving operational excellence, managing a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as well as solid expertise in stakeholder management, service innovation, and organisational planning.

You will also have a strong track record negotiating competitive arrangements and value add benefits with external providers, with a focus on leveraging these skills to enhance operational efficiencies and member satisfaction.
