If you're committed to social justice, human rights, and bringing about systemic change, this might be the job you’re looking for.
This role will draw on the experiences of community legal centres and their clients to develop and coordinate systemic advocacy and law reform. No two days will be the same. Your work will be diverse and collaborative. You will coordinate and undertake research for law reform and policy submissions, deliver training to the community legal sector, meet with Members of Parliament, work with journalists to tell high-impact stories and amplify our community’s experiences, identify solutions to inequality and injustice, and much more. For a detailed summary of the role’s duties and accountabilities, please refer to the Position Description attached to this job ad.
Community legal centres advocate for a fairer society and justice system. We are the peak-body for 40 community legal centres, and our sector helps more than 58,000 people every year to find solutions to their legal problems. Community legal centres have a long and successful history of bringing about systemic change through policy, advocacy and law reform. Informed by the experiences of our communities, we work to effect changes that will increase access to justice, particularly those experiencing financial hardship, housing or job insecurity, disadvantage, trauma, or discrimination.
