ABOUT US

Circle Green Community Legal is a community legal centre in WA providing state-wide specialist legal services in employment, workplace discrimination, residential tenancy law, family and domestic violence, and humanitarian services aimed at assisting people who are otherwise disadvantaged in their access to legal services.

Circle Green delivers legal advice, further assistance, casework, representation, duty lawyer services, outreach, community legal education, and advocacy to provide access to justice to the WA community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual with substantial experience in employment and workplace discrimination law to become the Acting Principal Lawyer in our Workplace team. You will be responsible for providing leadership, management, and oversight of Circle Green’s Workplace legal practice. You will also identify, manage, and guide strategic advocacy, law reform and policy initiatives of Circle Green.   

Please note that this is a parental leave contract for maximum term of up to 11 months.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, strategic person, passionate about social justice and human rights.

  • Admitted to practise law in Western Australia and hold an unrestricted practising certificate.
  • More than 5 years post admission experience in Employment and Workplace Discrimination matters.
  • Demonstrated ability and substantial experience in providing and supervising legal advice, further assistance, and representation.
  • Ability to lead a legal practice, including awareness of relevant professional practice requirements.
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to people from diverse cultural, socio economic and linguistic backgrounds, including those with complex trauma.
