We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations & Compliance Lead to join our team at Chronic Pain Australia. This pivotal role requires extensive experience in the not-for-profit, healthcare and charity sector, with a strong focus on Board governance and reporting and acquittals for government funding bodies. You will be responsible for ensuring our organisational policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks are upheld and continually improved to meet regulatory and contractual obligations.

The Operations & Compliance Lead is responsible for overseeing the coordination and delivery of services under the Queensland Health contract, ensuring compliance with financial and operational requirements, identifying and securing funding opportunities, and maintaining organisational policies and procedures. This role plays a crucial part in supporting Chronic Pain Australia’s strategic initiatives by ensuring service excellence, governance, and financial accountability.
Management of Queensland Health Contract Services & Reporting
Oversee the delivery of services under the Queensland Health contract, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and service quality standards.
Manage all reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports, data, and performance reviews.
Ensure that all required service reports, including those for Queensland Health, are completed in accordance with contract and organisational standards.
Engage with Queensland Health stakeholders to address service-related issues, ensure compliance, and explore future collaboration opportunities.
Regularly review contract performance and make recommendations for improvements.
Provide regular updates to the General Manager and Board of Directors on QH service delivery, contract performance, and QI opportunities.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, funding bodies, and partner organisations.
HR Compliance
Oversee the onboarding process for new Support Services volunteers, ensuring they have appropriate documentation, receive appropriate training, orientation, and ongoing support.
Maintain up-to-date records of volunteer personnel files, performance, engagement and development.
Policies, Procedures, and Compliance
Ensure that all organisational policies and procedures related to support services, Board governance, and organisation-wide operations are regularly reviewed and updated.
Manage compliance and risk management processes to align with legal, regulatory, and organisational standards, including risk register coordination, and alignment with ACNC and governance requirements.
Work collaboratively with internal teams to implement and communicate policy updates.
Assist with communication projects, including content audits, to ensure consistency and compliance with organisational and Queensland Health requirements.
Financial and Administrative Management
Prepare financial reports, assist with financial administration tasks and ensure appropriate coding in Xero to efficiently reconcile Queensland Health and other related grant projects.
Administrative, OPERATIONS and Project Coordination Support
Provide administrative and project coordination support to the Board and General Manager on relevant projects and programs as they arise, such as research collaborations, pain sector activities or other key strategic initiatives.
Assist with managing external queries relating to our various strategic initiatives, projects and support services under Queensland Health.
Grant Identification and Management
Identify and secure new funding opportunities, including grants, corporate partnerships, and philanthropic donations, to support and grow PainLink, Pain Support Groups and our other strategic initiatives.
Lead the preparation and submission of grant applications, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and funder expectations.
Monitor and report on the outcomes of funded projects, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree or demonstrate equivalent experience. A degree in Public Health, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related discipline is highly regarded. Extensive experience working in the NFP, healthcare, or community sectors is essential. Experience working with Peer Mentor Support Services, including a national helpline, is ideal.
