Chronic Pain Australia (CPA) is a non-profit and non-government health promotion organisation founded in 2001 by a group of committed volunteers seeking better health outcomes for people living with chronic pain.
Our vision is to improve the quality of life of those Australians who live with chronic pain. We believe no Australian should live with chronic pain in isolation or without access to resources, support, and affordable high-quality healthcare. Chronic Pain Australia is dedicated to supporting Australians in effectively managing their pain to preserve their dignity and self-respect, regardless of age, gender, culture, belief, rural or regional location or socio-economic background.
The Chronic Pain Australia Community Forum is a key part of our work is the CPA Community Forum, an online community where people can connect, learn and support each other. There are currently over 3000 people from Australia and beyond engaging with this service.
This forum could not exist without our wonderful online moderators who ensure forum members are safe, connected and supported with accurate information. Our volunteer moderators are special people with true empathy and understanding of what it is like to live with chronic pain. They work with CPA staff and volunteers to create a community for people living with, or supporting a friend or family
member, from chronic pain.
We are seeking 3 -4 volunteers with a lived experience of chronic pain to assist with moderation and delivery of this critical service.
DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility for our volunteer online moderators is to create a supportive community that fosters social connection and a sense of belonging. This is a critical role that sits right at the coalface of the chronic pain experience, so moderators must be accepting and able to connect with people from all walks of life in an authentic, positive and engaging manner. Our volunteer moderators all work from home with training provided by CPA.
We warmly welcome applications from people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage or from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds.
