Christians Against Poverty

Context

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Australia is an expanding charity with a strong vision and passionate workforce. CAP is building a movement of Christians that are committed to tackling both material and relational poverty. CAP has a vision that no one living in Australia will face financial distress alone, we believe in a future where hope, community and generosity abound so that all will flourish.

Jesus is at the core of all we do here at CAP. We exist to inspire and equip a movement of churches within Australia to walk alongside those in financial distress. CAP provides the training, tools, support and encouragement churches need to effectively walk alongside those in financial distress.

The Fundraising and Marketing team exists to build the financial capacity of CAP through the development of strategies aligned to our goals, initiatives and targets allowing us to attract, maintain and deepen partnerships and income streams.

Purpose

You and your team will be working collaboratively across the organisation and be instrumental in conceptualising and executing marketing campaigns that will ensure that we continue to grow new partnerships with churches and individuals and drive towards our goals and targets to support current partnerships.

Passion

You long for a movement of churches in Australia to be participating in God’s redemption story – full of individuals who are invited into this story and are called to a life of serving the poor and vulnerable who are in financial distress.

Person

You will collaborate with people across the organisation to envision, develop, launch and optimise our church and donor products that allow our partnerships to grow and the movement to expand. You take a posture of relationship with all of our partners – keen to understand what they need from a partnership with CAP and the energy to deliver this.

Key Characteristics

  • We need you to be a champion of those we serve. Churches and individuals - those we know and those we don’t. What does this look like? Well, we’d be looking for someone that is empathetic, curious, runs towards problem solving opportunities, is an intentional listener and is experienced at identifying areas of high impact for the people we partner with. The ability to sit at the intersection of conflicting priorities and manage backlogs and priority lists is a must in this role.
  • We need you to be able to cultivate and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with peers and our stakeholders. This role is about discovering the needs of the church and individuals and ultimately working towards adding value to these stakeholders.
  • You will love data! Both quantitative and qualitative! And you will have the ability to analyse and turn insights into actions!
  • You will have proven experience in creating a product strategy, designing a roadmap, and executing on developing and maintaining the product (we’d love someone who understands the fullness of the product lifecycle!)
  • You will love the church and understand it’s unique context and challenges.

CAP is located in Newcastle, NSW but we are happy for someone to be working remotely in this role.
