The role

The Children’s Hospital Foundation is seeking Board members who will champion the purpose, vision, values, and strategic priorities of the organisation. The board is responsible for the overall governance, management and strategic direction of the Foundation. They are responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of our ambitious vision. Each board member contribute expertise, advice and wisdom to the CEO and leadership team across matters including strategy, operations, finance and risk, governance, fundraising, technology, communications, media, business and planning.

Who are you?

We are seeking experienced professionals, who will bring their invaluable leadership and expertise to the existing members of the Board and our executive leadership team. You will be an experienced Board Member/ Non-Executive Director with Director qualifications and contacts and networks within philanthropy, corporates or government. You will also have a deep understanding and commitment to the purpose, mission and values of the Foundation.

Your expertise in board governance will be complemented by your skills in areas such as commercial operations, accounting, legal, philanthropy, marketing, digital, communications or human resources.

You will be clear on the strategic and functional role of the Board, will bring a contemporary approach to leadership and governance and have demonstrated knowledge of the applicable legal, ethical, and fiduciary responsibilities held.

What is Required?

The Board typically meets six times a year for two hours each time, in a combination of online and in person meetings. Directors can also join sub-committees, meetings which are held 6 times a year (1.5 duration) in preparation for Board meetings, and to have read and prepared for meetings.
