ABOUT THE ROLE
The Consumer Engagement Officer will report to the Engagement Manager. This role can be in Melbourne or Canberra, with hybrid working arrangements available. The role may involve some interstate travel.
You will be part of a small team, have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and be highly organised.
The key responsibilities are:
- Promote and protect the reputation of CHF by ensuring the organisation demonstrates best practice consumer engagement.
- Ensure the capacity and capability of CHF’s consumers is continually improved.
- Maintain strong connections with our consumers so they feel valued and empowered to making a difference to national health policy.
- Working closely with our Policy team, co-ordinate and ensure smooth implementation of consumer engagement activities and events such as webinars, roundtables and Special Interest Groups.
- Continually measure, report and improve the effectiveness of CHF’s engagement efforts.
- Budget, event and people management.
ABOUT YOU
You should have:
- Commitment to achieving and upholding the CHF vision, mission and values.
- At least three years’ experience in consumer engagement activities.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Event management experience with strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of CRM database management.
- Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative team member.
- Ability to respond flexibly and work in a busy and complex environment where there are competing demands, changing priorities, tight deadlines and limited resources.
- Well-developed computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Teams, and Acrobat (PDF).
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, as well as understanding of IAP2 principles.
- Knowledge of the health sector.

Note: You must have the right to work in Australia and demonstrate the absence of a relevant criminal history to be appointed. A current Working with Children’s check is also required. This role is full-time, two-year term.
