We are currently seeking an Transport Driver / Fleet Maintenance to provide client/community transport and maintain the CHADAC fleet vehicles. 

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal organisations, communities, and individuals in culturally appropriate ways 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the diverse health and social needs of Aboriginal people
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including a friendly and professional approach and an ability to deal with a broad range of people at all levels.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, including an ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, work to deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage sensitive information, maintain confidentiality and always remain impartial. 
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability of working autonomously with minimal supervision, and as an effective team member, promoting cooperation and commitment to achieve goals.

Duties will include (please see position description for full details):

  • Provide safe and reliable transport services for clients of the VMAMS and community members of the CHADAC to attend appointments, shopping trips, and public health / community days. 
  • Monitor road worthiness of all CHADAC vehicles including completing the weekly Vehicle Checklist and reporting all matters to the Line Manager or the CEO.
  • Ensure that the vehicles are regularly cleaned, fuelled, and taken in for service as required.
  • Maintain accurate recording of all vehicle log sheets and incident reports.
  • Ensure that all clients are aware of their obligations to comply with NSW road and Victorian road rules (including wearing seatbelts).
  • Assist passengers to stand, walk, sit, and transfer to wheelchair and chair as required according to OH&S standards.
  • Support community engagement in CHADAC events/activities.
  • Undertake work in accordance with the CHADAC/VMAMS Code of Conduct and the CHADAC/VMAMS Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as directed from time to time.
