About the role

• Write and produce regular content for all of CERA’s communication channels – including print publications, annual report, social media, e-newsletters and stakeholder publications.
• Produce and schedule social media posts and regular e-newsletters for the Melbourne Academic Centre for Health.
• Work with external suppliers including photographers, freelance writers, designers and video producers to produce print publications, social media graphics, video and audio materials as required.
• Develop original and repurposed content for trade and stakeholder publications – and assist CERA researchers writing articles for these publications

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience in communications, journalism or professional writing and editing
• Excellent written communication and storytelling skills. Demonstrated ability to work with subject matter experts to turn complex scientific information into accessible, engaging plain English communications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience interviewing people from a range of backgrounds. Ability to adapt interviewing style to suit the needs of interview subjects including scientists, clinicians, donors and people living with vision loss.
