1. ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
The organisation
LocalKind (LK) is a community-based organisation that supports our most vulnerable neighbours in the Northern Beaches. We provide accessible services to people experiencing domestic and family violence, homelessness, migrant and refugee settlement challenges, and early intervention programs for families, youth, and children.
The ROLE
The Growth and Fundraising role will work with the Acting CEO, General Manager of Growth & Strategy and other LK staff to ensure the organisation secures the revenue to fund its objectives while raising awareness of the organisation through marketing and community engagement. It is a 3-month contract that could extend to 6 months, and be renewed beyond that depending on performance and organisational state.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / POSITION ACTIVITIES
- Development of an annual fundraising strategy and plan, in consultation with the GM of Growth and CEO, and review periodically as required.
- Responsible for all aspects of fundraising including grants, corporate/business, major donors, individual donors, fundraising events, and trusts & foundations
- In consultation with the General Manager of Growth & Strategy and CEO, identify, and apply for grants and tenders
- Manage day-to-day community fundraising enquiries and communications.
- Manage the creation of online fundraising campaigns and ongoing communications.
- Identify and pursue gift and grant opportunities from trusts and foundations
- Coordinate and lead promotional events, especially those designed to generate revenue and build awareness of LK.
- Project manage fundraising events in collaboration with other staff, volunteers and supporters.
- Effectively nurture and develop partnerships with businesses, individual donors, trusts, and other prospective major donors
- Research and develop new partnership opportunities.
- Update the supporters database.
- Engage volunteers to assist with Growth in collaboration with the GM of Growth and CEO and other LK staff
- Coordinate Social Media activities on behalf of LK
- Prepare and submit Grant Acquittals, as required
- Contribute to Marketing & Branding consistent with relevant Marketing & Branding policies & procedures and direction of the GM of Growth and CEO
- Provide growth and fundraising reports and updates to the GM of Growth, CEO and Board as required
- Contribute to Annual Report regarding the growth portfolio, significant activity, and fundraising
3. SUCCESS INDICATORS
- Revenue targets exceeded
- New opportunities for funding identified
- Minimum revenue of $300,000 is generated through the activities of this role within 6 months, with the active support of the GM of Growth, CEO and the Board of LK
