Who we are

The Centre for Armed Violence Reduction (CAVR, armedviolencereduction.org) is an international not-for-profit organisation which develops information management systems to reduce the misuse of illicit arms and ammunition, especially in fragile situations. CAVR is based in Sydney with personnel and partners in a range of Pacific, African and Latin American countries. We are funded by UN trust funds and government aid agencies world-wide.

Role Description

You will:

  1. Deploy and support our not-for-profit armed violence prevention IT solutions world-wide
  2. Develop, manage and support the IT requirements of an international team of 10-12 people
  3. Help to further develop our database-centric IT solutions, recruit and manage sub-contractors

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of SQL, MS Access and Azure, familiarity with MS Power Platform and Microsoft 365 suites
  • Self-starting, adventurous approach to problem-solving and to finding low-cost solutions to IT problems
  • Patience and understanding when working with partners in disadvantaged, low-capacity countries
  • Willingness to learn new programs and to undertake some international travel
  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia and ability to work from the CAVR HQ office at Macquarie University
