The Centre for Armed Violence Reduction (CAVR, armedviolencereduction.org) is an international not-for-profit organisation which develops information and communication management systems and campaigns to reduce armed violence and conflict risk. CAVR is based in Sydney with personnel and partners in a range of Pacific, African and Latin American countries. We are funded by UN trust funds and government aid agencies.

Role Description

You will:

  • Create animated videos and related content for use in our campaigns with partners around the world, as part of our Aim system
  • Turn our information and research into content for our digital training and on-going support for users of our three ICT systems. This includes training videos and e-news emails
  • Establish a stakeholder communication system, including periodic social media posts, updates to our websites and more visual appeal to our public reports

Requirements

  • Digital communications experience, including animated video production
  • Cultural sensitivity and interest in our different stakeholders, who range from conflict-affected communities to law enforcement officers to aid agency donors around the world
  • Interest in working for a not-for-profit
  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia and ability to work from our head office at Macquarie University
