Communications and Content Specialist

Centre for Evidence and Implementation

Bring stories to life and help drive global impact through evidence and action.

Are you a strategic, creative communicator who’s passionate about making a social impact? The Centre for Evidence and Implementation (CEI) is looking for a Communication and Content Specialist to elevate our voice and visibility—across countries and causes.

This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to shape how CEI shares its work with the world. You'll lead the creation of compelling content—both written and visual—that speaks to diverse audiences in government, non-profit, research, and philanthropic sectors.

Working with our Knowledge Translation and Communication Manager, you’ll bring our work to life across internal and external platforms—helping grow our team, our influence, and our ability to improve outcomes for people experiencing adversity around the globe.

What you’ll bring

  • 2–3 years' experience in a dynamic communications environment
  • Strong foundation in professional writing, journalism or communications (degree required; postgrad a bonus)
  • A flair for storytelling, backed by exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience managing content and communication channels
  • Confidence with visual communication tools (infographics, video, basic design)
  • A natural organiser with initiative, attention to detail, and great people skills
  • A passion for purpose-led work, and enthusiasm to thrive in a small, mission-driven team

Experience in the social sector or non-profits, and familiarity with graphic design, will be highly regarded.

Why CEI?

At CEI, we believe good evidence and effective implementation can help solve the world’s toughest social challenges. An independent, not-for-profit social research organisation, we work with governments, service providers, funders, and researchers to close the gap between what we know and what we do.

With teams in Melbourne, Sydney, London, Oslo, and Singapore, our work spans the globe. We focus on:

  • Translating research into clear, actionable insights
  • Supporting implementation of evidence in real-world settings
  • Trialling and evaluating policies and programs
  • Building cultures that value and use evidence for better outcomes

With more people facing adversity globally, bridging the 'know-do' gap has never been more urgent—or more important.

How you’ll contribute

In this role, you will:

  • Create engaging content—articles, briefs, visuals—to showcase CEI’s work and impact
  • Design and manage visual assets (infographics, animations, imagery) that enhance CEI’s identity
  • Lead digital communications, including content strategy, planning and community management on social media
  • Amplify CEI’s voice through local and international events
  • Strengthen internal communications and keep our global team connected
  • Support recruitment and business growth through high-quality collateral
  • Oversee communication tools and platforms (Mailchimp, website, asset libraries)
  • Coordinate communications data and reporting to support CEI’s effectiveness and growth

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion

CEI is committed to improving outcomes for communities facing adversity—and we know that starts with inclusive practice. We strongly encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and lived experience of the social issues we work to address. We especially welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Additional information

CEI is founded by Save the Children Australia. As a child-safe organisation, all employees must undergo a National Police Check and sign our Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.

Only applicants with the right to work in Australia will be considered.
